    Telangana: Denied promotion, nurse slits her throat

    A government staff nurse, S Niramala (45) attempted suicide by slitting her throat and wrists at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) on Thursday. The nurse was depressed over not getting a promotion to the assistant manager level despite being eligible for it. As per hospital sources, the promotion was given to another nurse who was junior to her.
