T'gana at no. 1 in sexually transmitted infections

Telangana has recorded the highest incidence of sexually transmitted infections (STI) in the country as per the latest National Health Profile 2019 report released by the central bureau of health intelligence. Driving this health scare is the count of gonococcal infection – caused by sexually transmitted bacteria – that touched a staggering 14,940 in 2018. In 2017 too, the figure was an alarmingly high 10,880 in the state.
