Iran's Gen. Soleimani killed in airstrike at Baghdad airport

An airstrike killed Gen. Qassem Soleimani, head of Iran's elite Quds Force and architect of its regional security apparatus, at Baghdad's international airport Friday. The attack is expected to draw severe Iranian retaliation against Israel and American interests in the region. The strike also killed Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, deputy commander of Iran-backed militias in Iraq.
