HC gives state 4 wks to explain encroachments

Taking a serious view of a complaint that the state was allowing encroachments and concrete structures right in the midst of the lake bed of Hussainsagar within its full tank level (FTL) area, the Telangana high court on Wednesday issued notices to the chief secretary, municipal administration principal secretary, GHMC & HMDA commissioners, Water Board MD and TS pollution board member secretary, giving them four weeks to explain the steps being taken to protect the lake bed.
